On Thursday, June 12, 2025, students and faculty members from the Master’s Program in Biomedical Sciences (PMIB), Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, had the opportunity to visit PT. Biotis Pharmaceuticals Indonesia, located in Gunung Sindur, Bogor.
The visit was part of the “Introduction to Biotechnology” course, a general subject in the PMIB curriculum that combines interactive lectures with experiential learning activities. One of the key components of the course is a field study to a national research institution or a private company actively involved in biotechnology processes for industrial product development.
At PT. Biotis, students were introduced to the company’s operations, including an overview of its biotechnological production processes, quality control systems, and research activities. The visit provided valuable insights into how biotechnology is applied in the pharmaceutical industry, bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world practice.
This type of educational experience aims to foster critical and independent thinking among students (learning to think), while also offering them the chance to gain practical exposure to the field (learning by experience). It reflects PMIB FKUI’s commitment to delivering a comprehensive and transformative learning environment that prepares graduates to contribute meaningfully to the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors.
PMIB FKUI sincerely appreciates the hospitality and knowledge shared by the team at PT. Biotis Pharmaceuticals Indonesia and looks forward to continued engagement in the future.
